Booking Terms and Conditions

Pier House bed and breakfast is our family home and we hope you have an enjoyable stay with us.  Love and attention to detail has been given to it’s interior to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to make you feel at home. We hope that you will respect our home by removing outdoor footwear in our porch area. You are welcome to bring your slippers 🙂

Please respect other guests during your stay; we request you return to Pier House no later than 11pm. If you get back at this time please be aware that other guests may be sleeping.

Proceeding with a reservation, you will be deemed to have fully read and understood our terms and conditions as detailed below.

Covid-19 precautions

Arrival/Check-in

Please advise us of an approximate time of arrival between 4pm-8pm.
Pier House is run solely by ourselves and we may be out during the day.

Departure

Check-out is no later than 10am on your departure day.

If you are staying for more than one evening , whilst you are out exploring our stunning surroundings we clean & refresh rooms, walk our dogs and attend to daily chores. During the Covid-19 pandemic you are expected to vacate the property between 10am-4pm whilst cleaning takes place.

Keys

Guests are given keys to their rooms and after they have checked in. Our insurance company does not allow us to give out our front door key. Pier House is our home and a family member will always be available during the evening of your stay.

Should you leave with a room key there will be a charge made to your card of £50

Children

We do not have any family rooms, we do not accommodate babies, infants or children under the age of 16 years old. This includes children sharing beds with parents and infants in travel cots. If you arrive with children under the age of 16 years with the intention that they share your room, your reservation will be cancelled and you will be charged the full cost of your room and will be asked to leave.

Pets

We are not able to accommodate your pets within our home. We do have two dogs ourselves, but they are not allowed in the bedrooms or in the kitchen and dining room when food is being prepared or served.

Visitors

Under no circumstances can you bring any visitors or friends into our home or your room.

Food in rooms

Food, including take-away’s of any description, are not allowed to be taken into your room. Food stains and smells can be difficult to remove from bedding and carpets. A cleaning fee appropriate to any damage caused by ignoring this rule will be charged. It will be taken directly from the card you have provided.

No Smoking

We have a strict non-smoking and a non-vaping policy throughout the building. If you are found to be smoking in the rooms, you will be asked to leave. Our smoke alarms are all connected and should one go off they all will; thus disturbing other guests. If you have already checked out, a charge of £100 will be deducted from your card to cover the costs of a deep clean.

Mind your head

Please note this a very old building and the character of the building means that some of our doors are lower in height, you may have to duck your head to pass through doorways. This is your own responsibility we will not accept blame for any injury incurred from you failing to do so.

Equipment

Outdoor equipment i.e. bikes, skis, hiking and climbing gear, golf clubs etc are not permitted in your room. Please ask; anything very dirty or large can be stored securely for you.

Damages and Breakages

You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause to the room or its contents. This includes spillages of food and drinks on bedding and carpets. We ask that you report any incidents straight away. If there are any spillages on the carpets or bedding, please let us know immediately so we can clean them up quickly. All damages and breakages must be paid for before your departure. We do appreciate that accidents can happen, we like to maintain our high standard for future guests. Additional cleaning charges may apply if the room is not left to the standard it was when you arrived. Any damage that is subsequently found following your departure will be charged to the card used to pay your deposit. This could include the full replacement cost of a soiled mattress/goose down duvet or oak furniture left with permanent damage e.g. ring marks.

Deposit

To secure your reservation a Non-Refundable deposit equal to 30% of your booking is required. With that in mind, we recommend that you consider taking out travel insurance, to cover the possibility of you having to cancel your holiday, for whatever reason.

Cancellation

We are a small business, cancellations have an effect on our business and personal income. We may have turned down several other  bookings for yours.

If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before the date of your first nights stay you will incur the loss of your deposit. If you cancel your booking within 14 days of your first night’s stay, a cancellation charge equivalent to the entire booking will become payable. If you have booked multiple nights the full amount will be charged.

Cancellation due to Covid-19

If, within 5 days of your first night’s stay, you are unable to travel due to the Covid-19 pandemic, then you may defer your reservation until alternative, available, dates until our close of season business 2022. Deposits at Pier House are always Non-Refundable.

No Show

If you fail to arrive, the cost of the entire booking is payable – Cancellation charges will automatically be deducted from the credit/debit card that was provided at the initial booking to secure the room reservation. If your card has expired you are expected to meet any outstanding costs by other means.

We will confirm any booking cancellations by email. A booking should only be considered as cancelled when you have received a confirmation email from us.

If we cancel your booking

Your Pier House booking will only be cancelled by us in exceptional and unforeseen circumstances. If we do need to cancel your reservation, we will notify you as soon as practicably possible, and will provide recommendations of other b&b’s in the local area. We will not be responsible for any losses or increased expenditure by you in securing alternative accommodation elsewhere.

Refusal of entry

We reserve the right to refuse entry to our home to anyone at our discretion.
